The "Heat & Cold" marking to this example's barrel bridge is interesting and we have seen just a very few other examples of the Model 1857 "Waltham Watch Co." grade similarly marked, one of these other examples being s#617796.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, superb gilt tone, few small scratches and mild fine to micro-fine scratches, few scattered very small haze spots; virtually flawless dial with an infinitesimally small hl at bottom edge under bezel; fine hands, minute with areas of finish loss; case front opens a bit wide of 90 degrees (to approximately 105 degrees) and lift spring is not contacting to fully open position allowing lid to tilt back a bit toward closed with gravity, case shows ample wear, some dents and dings to front perimeter, some dings to band, scattered dents and dings to rear including a prominent sharp ding at lower perimeter, cuvette with a few dents, reduced engraving detail, front hinge is missing one end-cap; tight bow, push shows ample wear; good glass crystal.
